Arts Commission announces limited number of tickets remain for Governor’s Arts Awards     


(Indianapolis, Indiana)The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced today there are still a limited number of tickets available for the Bicentennial Governor’s Arts Awards program April 9, 2016 at the Schrott Center for the Arts at Butler University, 610 W. 46th St., Indianapolis, Indiana. The awards program begins at 5:30 p.m.


“Our recipients perfectly represent the diverse cultural landscape of our state, and that is reflected in the public’s interest in helping us honor them” said IAC Executive Director Lewis C. Ricci. “Our recipients and live performances not only help us celebrate promising new talent and current popular culture, they also reflect on the rich artistic legacy of our state.”


The awards will be the 21st biennial recognition of outstanding contributions in the arts, and honor The American Pianists Association; cartoonist Jim Davis; singer, songwriter and producers Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds; art collectors and philanthropists Robert and Ellen Haan; choreographer David Hochoy and Dance Kaleidoscope; and legendary jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery.


There will be live performances by American Pianist Association Fellow Sullivan Fortner; Dance Kaleidoscope; Butler Dance; and The Indianapolis Children’s Choir.


Tickets for the Governor’s Arts Awards are available in person at the Clowes Hall Box Office or online at The box office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.


Tickets are $20 for general admission and $10 with a valid student ID. All ticket purchases are donations to the Indiana Cultural Trust Fund and help support arts education projects of the Indiana Arts Commission.


The awards program is among the signature events endorsed by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, and will also serve to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Indiana Arts Commission. In addition, the event will tie in with Butler University’s annual ArtsFest celebration.


The Indiana Arts Commission is dedicated to the vision of the arts everywhere, every day, for everyone in Indiana.
