Posey County Plants Pinwheel Garden for Prevention in Mt. Vernon April 2

Pinwheel Garden planting open to the public to promote awareness of child abuse and neglect.

DETAILS:
For this event, the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) is partnering with Prevent Child Abuse (PCA) Posey County. This event is open to the general public to come and plant pinwheels in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness month. There will also be information on child safety and resources from PCA, DCS, and community partners. This event will take place rain or shine.

Additionally, PCA is distributing information to all area churches in Posey County to spread awareness, and is asking that churches encourage their congregations to take part in “Blue Sundays” in the month of April.

• Reach out to parents that you know and offer a hand or emotional support.
• Volunteer time to programs that help parents.
• Let all of the children in your life know that that they can depend on you.
• Advocate for community services to help families.
• Report suspected child abuse or neglect.
• Consider becoming a foster parent.
