[DNR] Monroe Lake offers spring break program, March 26

Monroe Lake is offering a special program for students in first through fifth grades during Lawrence County’s spring break.

“Spring Break Nature Explorers” runs from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at the Paynetown State Recreation Area Activity Center.

Space is limited to 10 participants, and registration is required by March 22. Register by calling (812) 837-9967 or by emailing jvance@dnr.IN.gov (include your name and phone number, and your child’s name and age).

During the program, naturalists will lead a set of mini-sessions on natural history topics, with an emphasis on fun, hands-on experiences. Children should expect to spend time outside.

Adults who want to stay with their child during the program must mention this at the time of registration. The activity center can accommodate only a limited number of accompanying adults.
