State Parks centennial celebration program at Ouabache SP, March 22

Entry Description
Learn about the formation of the Indiana State Parks system during a free presentation, March 22, at Ouabache State Park.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Ouabache State Park group and starts at 6:30 p.m. in the park lodge.

Jody Heaston, Indiana State Parks volunteer coordinator, will deliver the presentation. This year the state parks system will celebrate its 100th birthday.

People in attendance will receive special state parks centennial brochures.

“We hope people leave the program excited about visiting Ouabache State Park as well as other parks in Indiana during this special centennial year,” said Myra Myrtle, president of Friends of Ouabache State Park.

The Friends group will also provide information about future park projects and how to join the group to support Ouabache.

Entrance to the park will be free during the program.
