[DCS] DCS Appoints Laura Zimmerman Director in Benton County

FOWLER, IND. (April 30, 2013)The Indiana Department of Child Services announced today Laura Zimmerman has been appointed local director of the Benton County office of DCS. In her new role Laura will set goals and objectives for child welfare management helping to ensure children are protected from abuse or neglect. In addition, she’ll oversee a team of three that includes family case managers and clerical staff. She’ll also handle general office operations. 

 

“We’re very pleased Laura will be managing day-to-day operations in our Benton County office,” said Dave Judkins, DCS’ Deputy Director of Field Operations. “Her practical job experience as a family case manager and as a supervisor should benefit families in her county for years to come.”

 

Born in Lafayette, Indiana, Laura has a BA degree from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. Before joining DCS as a family case manager in Tippecanoe County in 2005, she gained experience working with Medicaid, public assistance, day care licensing and conducting adoption home studies. In 2007 she was promoted to supervisor in Tippecanoe County where she remained until her appointment as director of the Benton County office.  

 

She began her new duties in Benton County April 15.

 

The Benton County office of the Indiana Department of Child Services is located at 307 E. 6th St. in Fowler. To report child abuse or neglect, call the child abuse/neglect hotline:  800.800.5556.
