[DCS] DCS Appoints Ginger Schneck Director in Jackson County

SEYMOUR, INDIANA (June 10, 2013)The Indiana Department of Child Services announced today Ginger Schneck has been appointed local director of the Jackson County office of DCS. In her new role Ginger will set goals and objectives for child welfare management helping to ensure children are protected from abuse or neglect. In addition, she’ll oversee a team of 23 that includes family case managers, foster care specialists, supervisors and clerical staff. She’ll also handle general office operations. 


“We’re pleased Ginger will be managing day-to-day operations in our Jackson County office,” said Dave Judkins, DCS’ Deputy Director of Field Operations. “Her experience as a family case manager as well as a supervisor will be invaluable to her as she continues to help families in her county as director.”


A native Hoosier, Ginger was born in Evansville but spent most of her formative years in Seymour. Early in her career, Ginger enrolled families in a child assessment and therapeutic services program and then later, worked with new parents in a positive parenting program. In 1999 she joined the Scott County office of DCS as a family case manager. She transferred to Jackson County in 2001 and in 2006 she was promoted to supervisor. Ginger has a BS degree in health science from Ball State University.


She began her new duties in Jackson County May 6.


The Jackson County office of the Indiana Department of Child Services is located at 601 N. Burkhart Blvd. in Seymour. To report child abuse or neglect, call the child abuse/neglect hotline:  800.800.5556.
