STATEHOUSE (Mar. 1, 2013) – State Sen. Tom Wyss (R-Fort Wayne) recently welcomed the following students to the Statehouse to serve as Senate pages:
- Kyle Bleed, from Fort Wayne, attends Maple Creek Middle School.
- McKenna Clifford, from Waterloo, attends DeKalb High School.
- Luke Gordon, from Huntington, attends Huntington North High School.
- Keagan Hovey, from Huntington, attends Riverview Middle School.
- Lauren Pontenberg, from Fort Wayne, attends Maple Creek Middle School.
- Maclure Thompson, from Huntington, attends Riverview Middle School.
- Seth Thompson, from Huntington, attends Riverview Middle School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse, touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“This is a great opportunity for students across Indiana to learn about state government outside of the classroom,” Wyss said. “I encourage those with an interest in how our state is run to participate in this unique and rewarding experience.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
