STATEHOUSE (March 1, 2013) – State Sen. Jean Leising (R-Oldenburg) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse as Senate pages in February:

• Sarah Innis, from Milroy, attends Rushville Consolidated High School
• Taylor Yager, from Milroy, attends Rushville Consolidated High School
• Alexander Loveless, from New Castle, attends New Castle Middle School
• Chloe Wilhelm, from Brookville, attends East Central High School
• Samantha Turner, from Sunman, attends East Central High School
• Tori Dwenger, from Sunman, attends East Central High School
• Mason Gordon, from Rushville, attends Rushville Consolidated High School
• Michaela Grunkemeyer, from Batesville, attends East Central High School
• Matt Hoel, from Glenwood, attends Rushville Consolidated High School
• Monica Wehr, from Connersville, attends Connersville High School
• Jake Wicker, from Straughn, attends Tri High School 

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“I was happy to see so many students from our district serving as pages in the Senate,” Leising said. “These individuals came during an exciting time at the Statehouse — as we finish work on Senate bills and begin reviewing legislation from the House of Representatives.”

Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
