STATEHOUSE (March 15, 2013) — State Sen. Jim Buck (R-Kokomo) recently welcomed the following local students to the Indiana Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:

• Luke McCool, a homeschool student from Sharpsville.

• Asher Hu, from Kokomo, attends Kokomo High School.

• Connor Stevens, from Kokomo, attends Kokomo High School.

• Laura Mitchell, from Marion, attends Oak Hill High School.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing some debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“I am thrilled to see students from the district visit our Statehouse to page for a day,” Buck said. “It is a great way for students to learn about the legislative process. I encourage others to come to the Capitol to see the Indiana General Assembly in action.”

Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
