Entry Description
Indianapolis, IN- An Indianapolis man has been arrested and charged with OWI and neglect after troopers say he was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and endangering his three juvenile passengers.
Saturday evening, March 16th, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Indiana State Trooper Jarrin Franklin was patrolling on I-70 EB at the 85 mm in a fully marked State Police vehicle. Trooper Franklin was passed by a 1998 Buick passenger car that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then crossed three lanes of traffic and was attempting to pass a vehicle on the right emergency shoulder when Trooper Franklin initiated a traffic stop.
As he approached the vehicle Franklin observed three juveniles, ages 2, 4 and 13, moving around the back seat unrestrained. While speaking with the driver, Patrick A. Pride, 39, of Indianapolis, Franklin detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and signs of possible impairment.
The 35 year old female front seat passenger told Trooper Franklin that she wanted herself and the children out of the car because Mr. Pride was acting crazy.
Mr. Pride failed on scene field sobriety tests and he was transported to Wishard Hospital for a blood draw.
Pride was arrested and transported to the Marion County Processing Center without incident. The vehicle was released to the female passenger.

1. Patrick a. Pride, 39, of Indianapolis
Operating While Intoxicated (Endangerment) Class A Misdemeanor
