Overnight I-465 Restrictions For
Dynamic Message Sign Installation
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan to restrict traffic on I-465 during nighttime hours this week to install overhead dynamic message signs.
On Tuesday, March 12 at 10 p.m. crews will restrict northbound I-465 traffic to begin installing a dynamic message sign near mile marker 46.5, which is on the city’s southeast side between Exit 46 to U.S. 40/Washington Street and Exit 47 to U.S. 52/Brookville Road. One lane will be restricted at 10 p.m., and two lanes will be restricted beginning at 11 p.m. After 11 p.m., Indiana State Police will coordinate short-term traffic stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes at a time.
On Wednesday, March 13 at 10 p.m., a similar operation will take place on eastbound I-465 near mile marker 6.5, which is on the city’s south side between Exit 7 to Mann Road and Exit 4 to State Road 37/Harding Street. A single lane restriction will begin at 9 p.m., two lanes will be restricted beginning at 10 p.m. After 10 p.m., Indiana State Police will coordinate short-term traffic stoppages lasting up to 20 minutes at a time.
On Thursday, March 14, the same restrictions will take place on the westbound side of I-465 near mile marker 6.5. All lane restrictions are expected to end by 5 a.m. each day.
