STATEHOUSE (March 8, 2013) – State Sen. Pat Miller (R-Indianapolis) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:
• Bryce Friederick, from Indianapolis, a home school student.
• Jessalyn Friederick, from Indianapolis, a home school student.
• Avery Williams, from Indianapolis, attends Creston Middle School.
• Elizabeth Spaulding, from Indianapolis, attends Creston Middle School.
• Killian Valencia, from Indianapolis, attends Warren Central High School.
• Kynan Valencia, from Indianapolis, attends Warren Central High School.
• Kyle Kaiser, from Indianapolis, attends Baptist Homeschool Academy.
• Madeline Grobe, from Indianapolis, attends Lutheran High School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“I always enjoy meeting students from our district and introducing them to the Senate,” Miller said. “The page program is a hands-on approach to learning about state government, and I encourage other students to take part in this unique opportunity.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
