STATEHOUSE (March 5, 2013) – State Sen. Phil Boots (R-Crawfordsville) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:

• Nathaniel Franke, from Jamestown, attends Granville Wells Elementary School.
• Clayton Corey, from Kingman, attends Fountain County High School.
• Wayne Highfield, from Ladoga, attends Southmont Senior High School.
• Logan Endicott, from Waynetown, attends North Montgomery High School.
• Cory Hutchison, from Crawfordsville, attends Southmont Senior High School.
• Brook Rice, from Ladoga, attends Southmont Senior High School.
• Sam Shaver, from Crawfordsville, attends Southmont Senior High School.
• Allison Stoup, from Crawfordsville, attends North Montgomery High School.
• Derrick Verhey, from Waynetown, attends North Montgomery High School.
• Audrey Campbell, from Veedersburg, attends Fountain Central Jr/Sr High School.

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“As always, I am eager to have students from the district visit the Statehouse and learn about the legislative process,” Boots said. “It’s a hands-on approach to teaching students about state government. I encourage others to come to the Statehouse to see the Indiana General Assembly in action.”

Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
