Bartholomew County: This morning at approximately 9:45 Trooper Korry Clark was patrolling S.R. 7 in Bartholomew County when he clocked a 2004 Jeep traveling northbound a couple miles south of U.S. 31 at 100 miles per hour. Tpr. Clark immediately turned on the vehicle and as the Jeep reached the intersection of U.S. 31 it traveled into the right turn lane and continued north on S.R. 7 running the red light at that location. Near C.R. 250 East the Jeep apparently blew its engine, lost power, and came to a stop. Indiana State Excise Police Officer Mike Cruz was at the intersection of S.R. 7 and U.S. 31 as the pursuit proceeded north and assisted Tpr. Clark with the stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident. The pursuit lasted less than five minutes.

Arrested and Charges:

Devin C. Kinman, 22 of Columbus (driver)-Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors (Class D Felony), Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia while armed (Class C Felony), Possession of a Firearm without a Permit (Class A Misdemeanor), as well as numerous traffic charges.

Curt T. Lovins, 19 of Columbus (passenger)-Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors (Class D Felony), Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia (Class D Felony)

Both individuals were transported to the Bartholomew County Jail. Also assisting at the scene was M/Tpr. Jason Duncan and Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
