STATEHOUSE (March 1, 2013) – State Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse as Senate pages in February:

·         Jackson Blanchard, from Indianapolis, attends Herron High School

·         Sean Harrington, from Remington, attends Tri-County Middle-Senior High School

·         Jacqueline Hensley, from Delphi, attends Delphi Community High School

·         Mallory Huffer, from Frankfort, attends Rossville High School

Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing some debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.

“It’s always a pleasure to have young Hoosiers from our local communities visit the Senate,” Hershman said. “February marked a very busy month, as we finished work on all of the Senate bills. It was an exciting time to be here, and I hope these students got a sense of that.”

Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
