Entry Description Beginning your genealogical research can seem like a daunting task, which is why the Indiana State Library is hosting a unique event to help Hoosiers discover with their family history. Genealogy for Night Owls is a chance to get one-on-one assistance from experts from the State Library and the State Archives. The event will include opportunities to build your own family tree, library orientation and collection tours, Ask-An-Expert sessions, door prizes, and more!
In addition to expert advice on conducting genealogy research, the State Library’s Conservator will be on hand to offer tips for preserving family heirlooms such as letters, photos, scrapbooks, and family Bibles. You are welcome to bring items for feedback on proper preservation, although State Library and State Archives staff cannot provide appraisals.
Register online today for this unique and free event at the Indiana State Library (315 W. Ohio Street, Indianapolis) on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. You may also register by phone at 317-232-3689 or email dbohr@library.in.gov. Parking is available for $5 in the Government Center's New York Street Garage across from the State Library. |
