Entry Description
This morning at 7:39 a.m. Madison County put out a report of a crash on I-69 south bound around the 231 mile marker. Pendleton Lieutenant Tom Dujmovich was nearby and arrived with Chesterfield Police and Fire units to find a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup off the right side of the road into some trees.
The driver, Charles R. Mace, age 61 of Dunkirk, was flown from the scene by medical helicopter to St Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis where he later died. His passenger, wife Paulette Mace, age 57, was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s Hospital where she was treated and later released.
Preliminary investigation suggests the driver suffered a medical event that led to him losing control of the truck. Lt. Dujmovich was assisted at the scene by Chesterfield Police, Fire and EMS, as well as troopers from the Pendleton Post. |
