State Sen. Tom Wyss (R-Fort Wayne) made the following statement today

memorializing Bishop John D’Arcy of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Catholic Diocese:

 

STATEHOUSE (Feb. 11, 2013) – “Bishop D’Arcy was not only the most pastoral bishop I have ever met, but he also was a good friend.

“He was an outstanding leader in both the church and his community, serving diligently for 28 years. The impact he has left on Fort Wayne will be felt for years to come. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Bishop John D’Arcy served at the Fort Wayne-South Bend Catholic Diocese for 28 years. Following his passing on Feb. 3, 2013, at the age of 80, the General Assembly passed a concurrent resolution today memorializing him. All 50 senators signed the resolution.
