Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 11, 2013) – State Sen. Rodric Bray (R-Martinsville) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:
• Christa Asbury, from Cloverdale, attends Cloverdale High School.
• Jackson Szczerbik, from Cloverdale, attends Cloverdale High School.
• Samuel Allie, from Bargersville, attends Center Grove High School.
• Carlee Schlatter, from Reelsville, attends South Putnam High School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“It’s been an honor to have several bright students from our community visit the Statehouse and experience the legislative process for a day,” Bray said. “We all learn about state government and how laws are created in the classroom, but this is a chance for students to see the legislature up-close and hear debate about the real issues affecting Hoosiers in every corner of the state.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
