[ISP] Crown Point Man Arrested on Receiving Child Pornography

Crown Point, Lake County-A Crown Point man was arrested this morning, Friday, February 8th, on a federal charge of Receiving Child Pornography.

Indiana State Police Detective Jennifer Richmond assigned to Crimes Against Children Unit and Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) served a federal warrant, at approximately 10:00 a.m., at the residence of Joshua A. Atwood, 28 of 619 W. Porter Street, Crown Point for Receiving Child Pornography.

This stemmed from an investigation conducted by ICE and Crimes Against Children.

Atwood was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Hammond Federal Courthouse.

Assisting: Troopers from the Indiana State Police Lowell District and Crown Point Police Department

To report a crime involving online child enticement or child pornography, people are urged to contact their nearest Indiana State Police Post or call the Indiana State Police Crime Tip Line at 888-873-1694.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
