Entry Description STATEHOUSE (Feb. 1, 2013) – State Sen. Allen Paul (R-Richmond) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse as Senate pages:
• Taylor Arthur, from Richmond, attends Richmond High School.
• Anthony Bartholomew, from West Harrison, attends Sunman Dearborn Intermediate School.
• Ashley Bartholomew, from West Harrison, attends East Central High School.
• Madeline Mopps, from Richmond, attends Richmond High School.
• David Starcher, from West College Corner, attends Union County High School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“The Senate page program is a great way for students to learn about their government,” Paul said. “This educational experience allows students to see firsthand how issues are discussed. I always enjoy meeting pages, and I encourage all interested students in the district to apply.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
