Entry Description
Vigo County—This morning at 9:44, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Ritch Reynolds clocked a green, 2004, Ford, Windstar mini-van at 87 miles-per-hour in a 65 mph zone in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the 11 mile marker. As Trooper Reynolds activated his emergency lighting to stop the van, the driver accelerated and refused to stop. Multiple ISP troopers responded to assist and the driver willfully pulled over near the 16 mm at 9:46.
Further investigation revealed the van was reported stolen early this morning from Kansas City, Missouri. The male driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vigo County for Possession of Stolen a Stolen Vehicle, a Class D felony.
Arrested: Livens Florestal, age 24, of Irvington, New Jersey.
The Indiana State Police would remind citizens that “routine traffic stops” often yield more than a traffic citation; In this particular case, a stolen vehicle.
Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. |
