STATEHOUSE (Feb. 1, 2013) – State Sen. Ron Grooms (R-Jeffersonville) joined Gov. Mike Pence, state and local officials and Amazon executives today for the grand opening of Amazon’s new fulfillment center in Jeffersonville. The new facility will support up to 1,050 new jobs by 2015.
“A visit to our district by Indiana’s highest-elected official is certainly an honor, and it’s also an opportunity for us to highlight all of southeast Indiana’s strengths, including the positive economic growth we’ve seen here in recent years,” Grooms said. “I want to extend my sincere thanks to Amazon for choosing to invest in our community and contributing to that success. Residents of Clark County and our neighbors will benefit greatly from these high-skilled, high-paying jobs.”
Amazon now operates five facilities in Indiana and has locations in Indianapolis, Whitestown, Plainfield and Jeffersonville.
