The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) presented Adkins, Inc., in Martinsville, with the Indiana Clean Yard-Gold Level award on Friday, December 21, 2012. Adkins, Inc. is located at 1010 North Main Street, Martinsville, Ind.

After first achieving Gold Level status in September 2010, Adkins, Inc. has continued to maintain its high level of environmental stewardship, earning re-certification of IDEM’s highest level award.

Theresa Bordenkecher, section chief for IDEM’s Industrial Waste Compliance Section, presented the award to Mark Kendall, president of Adkins, Inc. “We are so pleased the company has continued to participate in the Clean Yard program,” said Bordenkecher. “Adkins, Inc. has earned recognition for its work to protect the environment.”

The Clean Yard program was established in 2009 as a collaborative effort of IDEM and the Automotive Recyclers of Indiana, Inc. (ARI) to decrease environmental threats posed by vehicles stockpiled in salvage yards.
