Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Dec. 12, 2012) — State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) today presented Burnett Creek Elementary School Principal Mark Pearl with a Distinguished Hoosier Award.
The award is granted by the governor and is one of the highest honors given to Indiana citizens. Alting recommended Pearl as a Distinguished Hoosier based on his passion and dedication to excellence in the classroom.
“This award is given to those who have shown exemplary service to their community and state,” Alting said. “Mark has demonstrated an impressive commitment to education, and is a great mentor to the staff, parents and — most importantly — the students of Burnett Creek Elementary.”
Pearl was named this year’s Elementary Principal of the Year by the Indiana Association of School Principals.
