LOCAL AND STATE INVESTIGATORS SEEK INFORMATION IN BATESVILLE FIRE
Up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest
BATESVILLE, IN - The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting Batesville authorities in their investigation into a fire that destroyed a Batesville Youth Baseball League storage shed.
On December 2, 2012, a fire at 675 John Street destroyed a large storage barn containing an estimated $15,000 in youth baseball equipment. There was no electricity in the barn, and investigators have ruled the fire was intentionally set.
The Batesville Fire Department, the Batesville Police Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office are encouraging anyone with information about this fire to call the State Fire Marshal’s Arson Hotline.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is a division of the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
State Fire Marshal’s Arson Hotline
The number for the State Fire Marshal’s hotline is 1-800-382-4628. The hotline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Callers could receive up to a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest of the person(s) responsible. Citizens can remain anonymous. All names will be kept confidential.
