Entry Description
Rep. Slager to serve on Ways and Means Committee
STATEHOUSE— House Republican Speaker Brian C. Bosma (R-Indianapolis) has announced committee members for the Indiana House Republican caucus. Committee chairmen and caucus leaders are selected biennially by the majority party after each election year.
In 2013, Rep. Hal Slager (R-Schereville) will serve on the Ways and Means Committee, responsible for crafting the State Budget, and the Select Committee on Government Reduction.
“There is no doubt we will have a tough time making sure budget funds are dispersed appropriately and responsibly so that Indiana has the greatest potential to thrive,” said Rep. Slager. “We must adhere to our principle of fiscal integrity, building a solid foundation of economic growth so that Hoosier families may prosper.
Standing committees are an integral part of the legislative process. Committees with specific expertise receive public testimony and work out the details of proposed legislation before it is heard on the House floor.
“It is an honor to serve on these committees, and I will work diligently to represent my community at the Statehouse,” said Rep. Slager.
