Entry Description The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, December 6, 2012, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (EDT) with a formal presentation beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Monroe County Fairgrounds Auditorium, located at 5700 West Airport Road just west of the S.R. 45 and Airport Road intersection in Bloomington, Monroe County.
The Tier 2 Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been prepared by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) for Section 5 of the proposed I-69 Evansville to Indianapolis project. The termini of Section 5, as approved in the Tier 1 Record of Decision (ROD) for I-69, dated March 24, 2004, are S.R. 37 south of Bloomington in Monroe County and S.R. 39 south of Martinsville in Morgan County. The project is an upgrade of an existing facility to interstate standards.
The purpose of the public hearing is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on the Section 5 Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the I-69 Evansville to Indianapolis Tier 2 Studies. The study area includes portions of Monroe and Morgan Counties. The total length for this section is about 21 miles.
