This three (3) day course is dedicated to providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for successfully terminating of a vehicle pursuit.  The students will receive classroom and practical hands-on training in the use of Precision Immobilization Techniques (PIT), tire deflation devices, pursuit intervention techniques, channeling, and moving/stationary roadblocks.  Legal and liability issues will also be addressed.  Specially equipped ILEA training vehicles will be used for these pursuit intervention training techniques.

Students MUST be certified EVO Instructor to attend.  This speciality course will provide law enforcement agencies with the ability to incorporate these techniques into their revised prusuit policy.  The EVO instructors should be proficient drivers prior to enrollment.  Helmets will be provided, however, students may bring their own DOT certified helmet if desired.

All students must bring their department's pursuit policy.   Students must have a current driver's/operator's license.  Attendees should wear typical working gear (BDU's, tactical pants, jeans, etc) as well as shoes or boots which lace and completely cover the entire foot are recommended.

Cost:  $200.00 Resident/$125.00 Commuter (Indiana Residents)
          $240.00 Resident/$150.00 Commuter (Out of State Residents)

Inservice Credit:  24 hours

The Calendar of Events is only a brief course description.  If a department needs to cancel a student from an ILEA inservice class, it must be done no later than five (5) working days prior to the start of the class.  If a student does not show up or cancellation is made any closer to the start of the class the agency will be responsible for payment in full for this class.
