[INDOT - Northeast] SR 5 at Noble CR 200N to become All-way Stop on Wednesday, November 13
Start Date: 11/12/2013 All Day
End Date: 11/14/2013
Entry Description
NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces that the traffic controls for the intersection of SR 5 and CR 200N in Noble County are scheduled to change on Wednesday, November 13, weather permitting. The current stop control, with preferentiality given to SR 5, will be replaced with all-way stop controls at this intersection. The overhead flashing beacons at the intersection will be converted from flashing amber/red to flashing all-red.

The following signage will be placed at all the approaches of the intersection: “Stop” signs with “All Way” plaques and flags, stop bars and “Stop Ahead” signs. Because SR 5 traffic previously did not have to stop at this intersection, double “Stop Ahead” signs and “Stop” signs will be placed on SR 5 approaches in both directions. Additionally, an advanced flashing beacon will be placed on the “Stop Ahead” warning sign for southbound SR 5, to increase driver awareness of the new stop condition.

After the signs are in place, all traffic on all approaches will stop before entering the intersection of SR 5 and CR 200N. The change in traffic controls is a result of a traffic study completed by INDOT that reviewed the traffic patterns, as well as the crash history at the intersection.

Motorists should be aware of the traffic change and drive with caution at this intersection.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, visit www.in.gov/indot. You can find traffic restriction information at www.trafficwise.IN.gov. Contact the Fort Wayne District toll free at 866-227-3555.
