Entry Description
Kennard – Today shortly before 4 p.m. members of the Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit served a search warrant on a home in Kennard and discovered a working meth lab. The warrant was a result of officers receiving a tip and conducting an investigation into the home located at 106 West Martindale.
Arrested at his home was Charles “Chip” Peck, age 38. Peck is charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, Class “C” Felony, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Class “D” Felony and Possession of Marijuana, Class “A” Misdemeanor.
Also arrested at the home was John Cox, age 23, of Knightstown. Cox is charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Class “B” Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine, Class “C” Felony, and Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class “D” Felony.
Two juveniles in the home, ages 15 and 12, were released to family members. ISP Meth Troopers were at the home until 8:30 p.m. clearing the dangerous and toxic chemicals from the scene. They were assisted in the investigation by the Henry County Drug Task Force and the Shirley Police Department.
Often times Meth Labs are found as a result of an anonymous tip from a neighbor or friend. Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous. The Indiana Meth Investigation System or IMIS, can also take tips on meth labs. Just go to www.meth.in.gov and click on the “Report Suspected Meth Activity” Link.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. |
