State Sen. Jim Buck (R-Kokomo) made the following statement today praising 14 area schools for earning ‘A’ grades in Indiana’s 2011-2012 school year performance review:
STATEHOUSE (Oct. 31, 2012) — “I am very proud of the students, teachers, parents and administrators for their work in the classroom,” Buck said. “It is great to see so many schools receive the recognition they deserve for their dedication towards educational excellence. Congratulations on a job well done.”
The schools include:
• Shamrock Springs Elementary School
• Westfield High School
• Carey Ridge Elementary School
• Washington Woods Elementary School
• Oak Trace Elementary School
• Monon Trail Elementary School
• Westfield Intermediate School
• Maple Glen Elementary School
• Northwestern Senior High School
• Northwestern Elementary School
• Howard Elementary School
• Sycamore Elementary School
• Boulevard Elementary School
• Tipton High School
At today’s State Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett announced that more than 61 percent of Indiana’s schools received A or B letter grades for the 2011-2012 school year.
