Entry Description
State Sen. Pete Miller (R-Avon) made the following statement today recognizing 23 local schools in Senate District 24 for earning ‘A’ grades in Indiana’s 2011-2012 school year performance review:
STATEHOUSE (Oct. 31, 2012) — “We are blessed to have so many great schools in our area with hard-working teachers, dedicated students and involved parents,” Miller said. “These local schools that earned top grades are models of educational excellence and accountability. They work hard to reach state goals and do great things so our children are prepared for the adult work force.”
Schools earning an ‘A’ grade in Senate District 24, which includes portions of Hendricks and Putnman counties, are:
• North Salem Elementary School
• Tri-West Senior High School
• Brown Elementary School
• Brownsburg High School
• Eagle Elementary School
• Brownsburg West Middle School
• Reagan Elementary School
• Delaware Trail Elementary School
• Brownsburg East Middle School
• White Lick Elementary School
• Cardinal Elementary School
• River Birch Elementary School
• Avon Intermediate School East
• Avon Intermediate School West
• Avon Middle School North
• Maple Elementary School
• Sycamore Elementary School
• Avon Middle School South
• Avon High School
• Cedar Elementary School
• Pine Tree Elementary School
• Danville Community High School
• North Putnam Senior High School
At today’s State Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett announced that more than 61 percent of Indiana’s schools received A or B letter grades for the 2011-2012 school year. Additionally, 207 schools received A’s for the first time. For more information about Indiana’s school accountability system, visit www.doe.in.gov/improvement/accountability/f-accountability.
