Entry Description
State Sen. Scott Schneider (R-Indianapolis) made the following statement today recognizing eight local schools in Senate District 30 for earning ‘A’ grades in Indiana’s 2011-2012 school year performance review:
STATEHOUSE (Oct. 31, 2012) — “I am so proud of the teachers and students at these local schools who put in the hard work and reached state goals,” Scheider said. “Overall, Hoosier schools faired very well and many earned top grades. This shows the nation that our state is serious about education and we are focused on our students doing well so that they can do great things when they enter the work force.”
Schools earning an ‘A’ grade in Senate District 30, which includes portions of Marion and Hamilton counties, are:
• Fishers Elementary School
• Lantern Road Elementary School
• Riverside Junior High
• Riverside Intermediate School
• Allisonville Elementary School
• Crooked Creek Elementary School
• Merle Sidener Gifted Academy
• Center for Inquiry II
At today’s State Board of Education meeting, Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett announced that more than 61 percent of Indiana’s schools received A or B letter grades for the 2011-2012 school year. Additionally, 207 schools received A’s for the first time. For more information about Indiana’s school accountability system, visit www.doe.in.gov/improvement/accountability/f-accountability.
