Entry Description This two-week course is designed for those students who have completed either the Basic Observer/Sniper Course or an equivalent type of course. This will insure that those attending will have the necessary experience, equipment, and competency for this advanced level of training.
Instruction will be provided in the following areas:
. Rifle set-up and maintenance
. Scope Adjustments
. Wind reading and weather conditions
. Range estimation
. Firing at known and unknown distances (up to 500 yards and beyond)
. Night firing exercise
. Position shooting
. Field craft skills (including silent movement, development of hides-natural and urban)
. Land navigation using GPS and compass
. Stalking techniques and observation exercises
. Ghille suit construction
. Scouting and surveillance practical exercise
Ammunition needed is 600 rounds of quality match grade.
This course will involve stressful activities such as running, hiking over rough terrain, and stalking movement in low weeds over 1/4 mile or longer. (Check equipment list letter for specifics.)
Enrollment is limited to 24 students.
Cost: $750.00 for Indiana Residents and $900.00 for Out of State Residents (includes housing and all course materials, BUT NO MEALS.)
