U.S. 35/Markland Avenue lane restriction at Kokomo

Entry Description

KOKOMO, Ind.—Spot flaws in the new pavement on U.S. 35/State Road 22/Markland Avenue at the U.S. 31 Corridor—will be corrected over the next several weeks.  

 

The paving contractor plans to remove and replace deficit concrete sections beginning Thursday.  This action requires a single-lane closure in the right eastbound lane of Markland Avenue for a distance of approximately three-quarters of a mile.  After that, a short closure of the left eastbound lane—just east of the interchange—will be restricted to complete corrections.   

 

According to Indiana Department of Transportation officials, remediation of this kind is commonplace.
