Entry Description Learn about the Battle of the Bulge through a variety of public events in December and January at Fort Harrison State Park.
The events, hosted by the park and the Museum of 20th Century Warfare, kick off on Dec. 15. They are:
— Battle of the Bulge displays: Open Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 15 through Jan. 26, from noon to 4 p.m., at Building 701.
— Meet Battle of the Bulge veterans: Dec. 15, 22 and 30 and Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Building 701.
— Battle of the Bulge lecture series: Dec. 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and Jan. 6, 12, 19, 20 and 26, from 1 to 1:45 p.m., at Building 701. Lectures will cover a variety of battles, from Noville to St. Vith. (The Dec. 22 lecture, “The 1st German Breakthrough” will last until 2:30 p.m.)
— Battle of the Bulge battle demonstration: Jan. 5, 2013, 2 p.m., at the field behind buildings 701 and 702.
All Battle of the Bulge events are free after the standard park entrance fee of $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle.
The Museum of 20th Century Warfare is a non-for-profit volunteer group whose mission is to educate the public about the soldiers and technology of the 20th Century through education, honor, integrity and charity. The museum is in the historic Camp Glenn District at Fort Harrison State Park. It hosts approximately 10,000 visitors per year from 38 states and seven countries.
