Rep. Eric Turner: State balances in strongest possible position

The following is a statement from State Representative P. Eric Turner (R-Cicero) in response to Governor Mitch Daniels’ press conference highlighting the Automatic Taxpayer Refund today:

"I was very pleased to work with Governor Daniels to not only have passed a balanced budget for the past eight years but to have put our state balances in the strongest possible position to be able to return some of that money to Hoosier families in the form of an Automatic Tax Refund.

"We returned 360 million dollars back to Hoosier families, in addition to paying down obligations to state pensions, protecting future generations."
