Grant funding is available for organizations planning events to celebrate Coastal Awareness Month in June 2013.

Coastal Awareness Month events will highlight the natural, cultural and historic resources of the coastal region of Indiana in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties.

Participating organizations are eligible to receive up to $2,000 through DNR’s Lake Michigan Coastal Program to help pay for event support, outreach materials and other appropriate items.

The DNR Lake Michigan Coastal Program has a total of $10,000 set aside for Coastal Awareness Month grants.

The grant application deadline is Dec. 20.

Additional information concerning event details must be filed with the Lake Michigan Coastal Program by April 15.

The grant application form and event details form are available at www.cam.dnr.IN.gov and should be submitted to mbyrne@dnr.in.gov by the appropriate deadlines.

Participating organizations can use the Lake Michigan Coastal Awareness Month logo and promotional materials in highlighting their event. The event will be placed on the Coastal Awareness Month website. Promotional materials will be distributed to event sponsors after event registration.
