Entry Description
Weekend I-465 Restrictions
On Indianapolis’ West Side
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan lane restrictions on I-465 on the city’s west side this weekend to finish pavement markings and open new traffic lanes.
Crews from Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor, will place permanent pavement markings on I-465 between 10th and 38th Streets. The operation will require alternating lane restrictions and shifting traffic patterns through the weekend.
On Friday, November 9, one lane will be restricted from 9 p.m. until midnight (12 a.m. Saturday).
On Saturday, November 10, two lanes will be restricted from 12 a.m. until 7 a.m. and one lane will be restricted from 7 a.m. until midnight (12 a.m. Sunday).
The southbound I-465 exit ramp to US 136 and Crawfordsville Road will be closed Saturday from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Sunday for asphalt pavement repairs. Message boards will advise motorists to use the 10th Street ramps to return northbound on I-465 to exit to US 136 and Crawfordsville Road.
On Sunday, November 11, two lanes will be restricted from 12 a.m. until 9 a.m. and one lane will be restricted from 9 a.m. until midnight (12 a.m. Monday).
On Monday, November 12, two lanes will be restricted from 12 a.m. until 6 a.m.
Alternating lane restrictions should also be expected Monday and Tuesday nights as a moving operation installs reflective lane markers.
Barring inclement weather, INDOT expects the segment of I-465 to have four lanes open in both directions, with additional auxiliary and ramp lanes for traffic entering and exiting the interstate, by Monday morning. The additional lanes will complete 11 miles of Accelerate 465 interstate improvements between Hanna Avenue and 56th Street on Indianapolis’ west side. |
