Entry Description

Vigo County—Indiana State Police Detectives from the Putnamville Post are currently investigating the death of two persons found on private property near US 150 and Pennington Road in northwestern Vigo County. The bodies were found approximately 150 yards south of Pennington Road and under a small bridge on a driveway which led to abandoned residence at 7400 West Pennington Road. A white 1997 Ford pickup was found at the scene and is believed to belong to one of the victims. The victims appeared to have been deceased for a few days.

The bodies are partially decomposed, but appear to be an adult male and adult female of middle age or older. Due to the decomposition, positive identification may take a few days. Autopsies are scheduled for Monday, October 21. Investigators believe the male and female were in a relationship prior to their death and investigators believe there is no threat to public safety in the area.

The bodies were reported to Indiana State Police around 10:00p.m on Saturday, October 19 by individuals riding All Terrain Vehicles in the area.

The lead investigator is ISP Detective Tony Guinn. Assisting were ISP Detectives First Sergeant Jeff Hearon, Sam Stearley and Don Anglin; Troopers Jason Kempf, Mike Taylor, and Erik Smith; ISP Crime Scene Technician Sergeant Kris Fitzgerald, Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, Vigo County Coroner’s Office and New Goshen Fire/Rescue.

No other information will be released at this time.

Direct any questions to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.
