[GOV] Governor Pence Announces Bicentennial Legacy Conservation Area

Indianapolis, IN – Governor Mike Pence today announced the creation of the Bicentennial Legacy Conservation Area at Cope Environmental Center in Centerville. Pence was joined by Bicentennial Commission Co-Chairs Becky Skillman and Lee Hamilton, as well as Bicentennial Ambassador First Lady Karen Pence. 

Pence, describing himself as a conservationist, said, “Preserving our natural resources is economic development for this generation and the next.” 

The Governor has visited five state parks and one state forest since his inauguration in January. His remarks as prepared for delivery can be found attached.
