IDEM accepting written comments through November 7, 2012

What: Public informational meeting and formal public hearing concerning the formation of the Hayden Wastewater Utility, Inc. Regional Sewer District

The Jennings County Council and the Jennings County Commissioners have submitted a petition to the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) for the formation of a new regional sewer district. Known as the Hayden Wastewater Utility, Inc. Regional Sewer District, the territory will include the unincorporated area of Hayden, which is located in Jennings County, Indiana. 

To learn more about the proposal, citizens are invited to a public informational meeting being held by the Hayden Sewer Committee at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at the Hayden Historical Museum in the Pavilion Building, 6715 West County Road 20 South, Hayden. Hayden Sewer Committee members and IDEM staff members will be available during the informational meeting to speak with the public about the petition for the district’s formation. As part of the public participation process, IDEM will hold a formal public hearing immediately following the public informational meeting, where citizens will have the opportunity to speak on the record and submit written comments to IDEM about the proposal.

Individuals who do not wish to submit comments but would like to receive the agency’s Notice of Decision should submit a written request and their mailing address to IDEM.

IDEM will consider all public comments prior to making a final recommendation concerning the proposed district.
