[IEDC] VOSS Automotive Expands Headquarters in Fort Wayne
Start Date: 10/15/2012 All Day
End Date: 10/15/2012
Entry Description

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Oct. 15, 2012) - VOSS Automotive, Inc., a supplier of line and connection technology used in passenger cars, commercial and off-road vehicles, announced plans today to expand its North American headquarters here, creating up to 30 new high-wage jobs by 2015.

The company will construct and equip a new 35,000 square-foot facility on 9.5 acres at the 4700 block of Hillegas Road in Fort Wayne. The facility will house office space and a fully-equipped design validated lab and prototype shop. Construction of the new facility is slated to begin by the end of the year.

"From Fort Wayne to Evansville, established, global companies recognize the value of doing business in the Hoosier State," said Dan Hasler, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "VOSS' growth and commitment to Indiana bring new jobs for Hoosiers and reinforce northeast Indiana's economic strength."

VOSS, which recently added 19 new positions in Fort Wayne, will continue to fill high-wage jobs across the company as part of the project.

"Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana have been instrumental in helping us serve our customers and expand our business in North America," said Eduardo Vultorius, chief executive officer of VOSS. "The combination of a great location and a skilled, motivated and hardworking workforce will continue to help VOSS secure growth and success for many years to come."

Originally founded in Germany in 1931, VOSS established its North American headquarters in Fort Wayne in 1997. VOSS specializes in line and connection technology for fuel, coolant and SCR systems for commercial vehicles and passenger cars.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered VOSS Automotive, Inc. up to $400,000 in conditional tax credits based on the company's job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Allen County will consider additional property tax abatement at the request of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

"The city is excited to have an international company choose Fort Wayne for its North American headquarters," said Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry. "Our ongoing relationship and open dialog with local company executives allowed us to address specific needs to retain this Fort Wayne business."

About IEDC
Created by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2005 to replace the former Department of Commerce, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation is governed by a 12-member board chaired by Governor Daniels. Dan Hasler serves as the chief executive officer of the IEDC.

The IEDC oversees programs enacted by the General Assembly including tax credits, workforce training grants and public infrastructure assistance. All tax credits are performance-based. Therefore, companies must first invest in Indiana through job creation or capital investment before incentives are paid. A company who does not meet its full projections only receives a percentage of the incentives proportional to its actual investment. For more information about IEDC, visit www.iedc.in.gov.
