STATEHOUSE (Oct. 16, 2012) – State Sen. Jim Smith (R-Charlestown) encourages area residents to help celebrate the town of Bethlehem’s 200th birthday at the Autumn On the River festival this weekend, Oct. 20 through 21.

Now in its 20th year, the festival will feature carriage rides, a silent and live auction, a parade, free musical entertainment and various craft and food booths. A Veteran’s Tribute will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m., followed by the ‘Celebrate Bethlehem’ parade at 2:30 p.m.

“Situated along the Ohio River, Bethlehem is an important part of our southern Indiana community,” Smith said. “This will be a great event to not only honor Bethlehem’s bicentennial, but also to enjoy the seasonal weather and some of our favorite fall activities with neighbors.”

When: Saturday Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday Oct. 21, 12 to 5 p.m.
