LAFAYETTE, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Child Services announced today Angela Guimond has been appointed Local Office Director of the Tippecanoe County office of DCS. In her new role Angela will set goals and objectives for child welfare management helping to ensure children are protected from abuse or neglect. In addition, she’ll oversee a staff of 42 that includes family case managers, foster parent support case managers, attorneys and clerical staff. She’ll also handle general office operations.
“We’re thrilled Angela will be managing day-to-day operations in Tippecanoe County,” said Dave Judkins, DCS’ Deputy Director of Field Operations. “With her strong educational background and hands-on experience working with kids in Tippecanoe County, Angela is well equipped to be a true leader and serve her county well.”
A native of Champaign, Illinois, Angela has an undergraduate degree in psychology and a Masters in social work. She has served children in several capacities throughout her career starting as a case counselor in a therapeutic residential home for sexually abused children in Illinois. Angela went on to become a child protection services case manager for the Department of Social Services in New York and later became a family case manager for DCS in Tippecanoe County. In 2005 DCS promoted her to supervisor and she has served in that capacity until her recent appointment to director.
