Indianapolis Traffic Restrictions Update 


  • I-465 westbound traffic is temporarily shifted to the right between I-69 and Allisonville Road.  Three lanes of traffic will be open during daytime hours, but additional lane restrictions in both directions should be expected between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • I-69 southbound to I-465 westbound ramp is restricted to a single lane.
  • I-465 westbound does not have a designated exit lane for northbound Allisonville Road, but the exit ramp is open.


I-465 & Allisonville Road Interchange:

  • The Allisonville Road bridge over I-465 is open, with additional lane restrictions expected to continue for 25 days.  Two through lanes, one left turn lane and one right turn lane are open in each direction.
  • A 45 mph work zone speed limit on I-465 in both directions is in effect when signs are flashing during working hours.  Drivers should reduce speeds on I-465 and the Allisonville Road ramps.  Drivers should be alert for construction workers in the area, heavy trucks entering and exiting the roadway and Indiana State Police patrolling the work zone.

I-69 Operation Indy Commute

  • I-69 northbound will have a right lane restriction, and the Exit 205 collector-distributor will have a left lane restriction Monday, October 8 beginning at 10 p.m.  Temporary traffic stops of up to 20 minutes will occur after midnight, and the restrictions are expected to end before 5 a.m. Tuesday, October 6.
  • I-69 northbound is restricted to two lanes beginning at Exit 205 to 116th Street and SR 37 for construction of a two-lane flyover ramp to SR 37.


US 31 at SR 38

  • US 31 at SR 38 is one lane in each direction with shifting traffic patterns in each direction.  US 31 northbound and southbound access to SR 38 is closed.


US 31 at Keystone Parkway & 146th Street

  • Northbound Keystone parkway access to US 31 closed for 80 days on Monday, July 30.  The Hagan-Burke Trail will also be closed for up to three consecutive days each week as the northbound Keystone Parkway bridge over Cool Creek is reconstructed.
  • US 31 northbound is redirected via median crossovers to share new pavement on the west side of the roadway with southbound traffic between 151st Street and the Monon Trail south of Range Line Road.  Two through lanes are maintained in each direction. 


  • I-70 eastbound will have a right lane restriction between Post Road (Exit 91) and Mt. Comfort Road (Exit 96) on Saturday, October 6 from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • I-70 in both directions from Post Road (Exit 91) to just east of Mt. Comfort Road (Exit 96) has two lanes of traffic through a construction work zone.  I-70 westbound has a 45 mph work zone speed limit in effect. 



  • I-465 southbound between 34th and 21st Streets has three lanes shifted toward the median and one lane to the right for exiting to westbound I-74, US 136 and Crawfordsville Road.
  • I-465 northbound between 21st and 34th Streets has three lanes shifted toward the median and one lane to the right for exiting to US 136 and Crawfordsville Road.
  • US 136 and Crawfordsville Road have a 30 mph work zone speed limit in effect.  High School Road is restricted to a single lane in each direction north of Crawfordsville Road.
  • US 40/West Washington Street has two lanes in each direction between I-465 and Glen Arm Road.  Both directions of traffic are on the north side of the road.  High School Road is restricted to a single lane in each direction.
