Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Sept. 28, 2012) — Senate President Pro Tempore David Long (R-Fort Wayne) today praised State Sen. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) for his outstanding 2012 voting attendance record of 96.7 percent.
“Senator Alting continues to do a terrific job of representing constituents in Senate District 22, and that’s demonstrated through his exemplary voting record,” Long said. “He takes his responsibilities as a state lawmaker seriously.”
Long added that Alting’s floor votes totaled 355.
“This session, 161 Senate bills moved to the Governor’s desk,” Long said. “These pieces of legislation represent the people’s work, including ensuring workplace freedom, eliminating Indiana’s inheritance tax, funding full-day kindergarten and streamlining college credit transferability.”
For the 2012 session, state records show that 158 of the 161 bills that went to the Governor for his signature into law were bipartisan in nature. Of these, 91 bills were unanimous.
