US 52 Project will shift lanes beginning Friday Night
Motorists need to be aware of changes in traffic patterns
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announce traffic will be shifted into the newly constructed eastbound lanes on Friday, August 31 at night. Crews with Walsh Construction Co. will be reconstructing the westbound lanes between the Wabash River Bridge and Schuyler Ave.
Walsh Construction Co. was awarded the $11.3 million road and bridge rehabilitation project. US 52 will be reconstructed from the Wabash River Bridge to just west of Schuyler Ave. this year. The project also includes rebuilding the CSX Railroad Bridges. Other improvements as part of the reconstruction will include shoulder, curbs and gutters, drainage structures, culvert, guardrail, and sign replacement. This project is scheduled to be completed in late November of 2012.
INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot or www.trafficwise.IN.gov .
