Entry Description

State Sen. Brandt Hershman (R-Buck Creek) made the following statement today praising Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Jasper, Tippecanoe and White county schools for earning ‘A’ grades in Indiana’s 2011-2012 school year performance review:

STATEHOUSE (Oct. 31, 2012) — “Today’s announcement of school performance grades serves as a learning opportunity for state officials and Hoosiers across Indiana,” Hershman said. “With performance grades, it’s easy to be most concerned with identifying schools that are in need of improvement and helping them succeed. Just as importantly, however, is identifying schools that have already excelled and giving them the recognition they deserve for going above and beyond. I applaud our local ‘A’ schools and everyone involved — parents, teachers, community members and administrative staff — in working to give our students the best education possible. Schools’ ‘A’ scores have not gone unnoticed.”

Local ‘A’ schools include:

  •     Granville Wells Elementary School
  •     Thorntown Elementary School
  •     Western Boone Junior-Senior High School
